Viator review: Kumeu Wine Tour

Amazing day!!! Chose this tour b/c of the reviews and totally no regrets. PJ and Lola were awesome guides. If you’re looking for just a tour then this tour is not for you. However, if you’re looking for an experience, this is the one you want. It felt like a day with family. PJ and Lola were so personable and full of energy the 6 hours felt like 2. We learned a tremendous amount of culture and history while enjoying the wine and breathtaking sights. We are definitely leaving NZ with more friends than we arrived with.

Great tour on my first day in New Zealand: Honey Centre Warkworth, cute friendly animals at Sheep World, delectable chocolates at Chocolate Brown, tasty wines at Matakana Estate, and a nice walk at Parry Kauri Park. Gorgeous day in New Zealand. Thank you Peter and Lola!!!

Sheep world was a hoot and Peter made it so much better. His ability to pack so much in a day is fantastic. I think that a lot of the tours take you south but this tour took you north to a little out of a way honey farm where we tasted all kinds of honey and left with the best tasting honey.. it was soooo good. Then we trekked to Sheepworld through some of the greenest and most beautiful countryside scenery. Took so many pics. At Sheep World, it was so homey and such a unique experience watching the sheep dogs herd the sheep, feeding the varied groups of animals and actually seeing the sheep sheared was very cool! Afterwards we ate a delicious meal at a wonderful restaurant. Great choice Peter! We went to Goat Island. What a gorgeous spot. I could have stayed here all day. Peter was full of so much information. Then went on a bush walk through a rain forest. To top it off we were supposed to have wine tasting but when Peter found out we weren’t much of a drinkers he changed it mid tour to chocolate tasting. It was wonderful how he changed the trip to individualize it for us. I loved it all especially the scenery. Do yourself a favor and make sure you go north of Auckland and not just all south. And make sure you get Peter. He’s the best. He’ll treat you right!

A Perfect Day in New Zealand

Tripadvisor review: Sheep World Country Tour from Auckland

My husband and I took this amazing tour with Peter as our tour guide. This is the very best tour I have ever been on. Peter was amazing with all the information he gave us as we were exploring the city and country side around Auckland. Sheep World was so interesting and the lady who shore the sheep was really wonderful at her job. She explained the process as she sheared the sheep. She also let us ask questions and interacted with the audience. It was great and feeding the animals was really fun. Peter also took us to Honey Centre and we saw the bees in a wall that was their comb. Their honey is double sealed so we could buy it and take it on the plane. It was very interesting. Peter took us to lunch and it was very delicious. He took us to places that I'm sure a lot of guides wouldn't have. He is a very kind man and his manners are implacable. It was a delightful day and touring the city was very interesting also. I can't say enough about how well were treated and respected. If you want an exciting, relaxing tour this is the one for you. I would have given this tour a ten if there had been a score that high. I met a man from Los Angeles in Sydney and he was traveling to Auckland next. I suggested that he take this tour and I hope he did.

Sheep World Fun

Viator review: Sheep World Country Tour from Auckland

My wife and I enjoyed this trip very much. We both have some mobility problems and this was a very easy trip for us. The scenery throughout the trip was outstanding. We stopped for some honey tasting that was very good, and there prices were very reasonable. Lunch was provided and we went to a very nice little cafe with great food. You will not be disappointed with this trip especially if you have children.

There was only the two of us on the tour so our guide tailored the tour for us. For instance, instead of the usual wine tasting we went to taste chocolates.

The tour was lovely and we got to see different places from Auckland. At Sheepworld, seeing the dogs work and a sheep shorn were special highlights of the tour.
